USB TO SERIAL Adaptor used in conjunction with Omniflex serial port programming cables, has DB9 RS232 connector and USB port to PC. Most PCs and Laptops no longer have on board serial ports. Needs an adapter cable for either Maxiflex or Silent Sentry The Omniflex Mini-Jack Programming cable is designed to be used to configure all OMNIFLEX products equipped with a "mini-jack" programming socket. The Omniflex Maxiflex Programming cable is designed to be used to configure those OMNIFLEX products equipped with a RJ25 programming socket. Simply plug the "DB9"connector end of the cable into the serial port of the C1167A or M1831B and then the USB plug into a USB port on the PC Using the Omniset Configuration Software, the correct template file for the product to be configured, and this converter and programming cable, any OMNIFLEX product equipped with a "mini-jack" programming socket or RJ25 socket may be configured quickly and easily, even while installed on the plant. Full isolation in the mini-jack programming cable ensures that any stray voltages present in the plant do not get to your computer keeping it safe from transients and ground loops. For hard to reach places, use with a standard 3.5mm miniature stereo jack extension cable to extend the reach of the mini-jack programming cable. It is recommended to buy this adaptor from Omniflex as it is validated to work on Omniflex products. Some third party devices are known not to be supported by all versions of Windows. |
